Job summary

Concordia University, St. Paul is seeking a CSP Esports Assistant to support the CSP Esports program. You will help with marketing, media materials, and coaching, while also creating and running the program's Twitch streams and social media content.

You will mentor players, assist with events on campus, and work closely with the Esports Manager and team captains to keep teams connected with opponents. This is a part-time, on-campus student employee role, with duties extending to arena

Responsibilities

  • Support the CSP Esports program with marketing and media materials.
  • Coach/mentor players and assist with campus events.

  • Maintain Twitch/YouTube profiles and create highlights.
  • Moderate Twitch chat during CSP matches and engage audiences.
  • Coordinate with Esports Manager and team captains.
  • Ensure streams run smoothly and arena rules are followed.
  • Assist in cleaning practice space and arena; monitor Study Hall.

Job description

Position Overview

The Esports Assistant position is a critical position for the success of the CSP Esports Program. The Esports Assistant is responsible for filling a variety of roles for the program, as delegated by the Head Coach. Assistants will help in the development and creation of marketing and media materials, coaching/mentoring specific players/teams and helping with events on campus. The Esports Assistant is responsible for creating, managing, and running all of the Twitch streams for the CSP Esports program. Assistants will help in the development and creation of marketing and media materials, coaching/mentoring specific players/teams, helping with events on campus, and being an overall representative of the Esports program, both on and off campus.

Social Media Assistants
  • Marketing and Media Expectations
  • 1 Twitter Post and 1 IG post MINIMUM per week day
  • Match Date/Time announcement

  • Possible post ideas:
    • Recruitment
    • Upcoming Events
    • Highlighting players
    • Highlights/Clips from matches
    • Retweets/Quotes of high schools or MNVL
Streaming Assistants
  • Set-up
    • Create and maintain Streamlabs/OBS profile for the program.
    • Implement graphics already created into scenes for the stream
    • Connect with caster, if needed
  • Managing
    • Maintain up to date graphics, text, and effects if new ones are created by graphic design intern
    • Maintain updated profiles on Twitch and Youtube
    • Create Highlights on Twitch that we can also use on Youtube and Social Media
    • Export and categorize videos in playlists based on game played on Youtube.
  • Running our stream
    • Having our stream set up EARLY and being prepared to start the stream when the game is set up.
  • Managing and moderating the Twitch chat during all CSP matches
  • Creating engagement using other plugins on Twitch/Streamlabs.
  • Work with our Esports Manager and captains to make sure teams are in contact with their opponents
  • Ensure the Twitch streams are up and running and correct any issues as they occur.
  • Make sure arena rules are being followed including food and drink expectations
  • Clean up the arena as needed.
  • Work with students academically by monitoring Study Hall and checking in with players individually
Other Responsibilities
  • Clean Practice Space and Arena with Coach Pauly once a semester
  • PCs, Peripherals, Monitors, Tables, etc.
  • Update and clean up PCs
To be eligible to be a CSP student employee, one must:
  • Be enrolled and registered as a CSP student (PSEO students are not eligible).
  • Have a United States social security number.*
  • Be in good standing with CSP academic requirements and student accounts.
  • Have declared a major with CSP.
  • For summer employment, priority will be given to the student employees who are enrolled and registered in summer courses.
