Job summary

FCCI seeks a motivated individual to join as an E&S Underwriter Trainee. You will train to underwrite risk, mastering guidelines, rating manuals and insurance laws while building relationships with agents and insureds in an assigned territory.

The program blends instruction, self-study and on-the-job shadowing across multiple regional offices. Upon mastery, you will evaluate accounts and provide underwriting recommendations within limited authority on moderately complex cases, starting June 2027

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; risk management and insurance emphasis preferred.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship-building and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze, define and solve problems with sound judgment and decision-making.
• Ability to determine customer needs, provide solutions and price business appropriately.
• Basic knowledge of underwriting processes, coverages, tools and company products and services.

Responsibilities

• Train to underwrite risk for new and renewal commercial business.
• Learn underwriting guidelines, rating manuals, procedures and regulations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents and insureds in the assigned territory.
• Participate in extensive training with on-the-job shadowing and self-study.
• Evaluate existing and new accounts and make underwriting recommendations within limited authority.
