Job summary

Polikov Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Excess & Surplus Specialty Lines Team Leader to guide an underwriting team within its Binding Authority division. You will mentor underwriters, guide decisions on new and renewal business, and ensure compliance with binding authority standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, relationship-building, and strategic growth across specialty lines with exposure to Lloyd’s markets. Travel with the team to develop agency relations.

Qualifications

• Minimum E&S underwriting experience with carrier, MGA, or wholesale broker.
• Exposure to binding authority / delegated underwriting preferred.
• Familiarity with Lloyd’s marketplace preferred.
• Leadership experience OR clear leadership potential.
• Strong relationship-building and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of E&S brokerage underwriters.
• Review and guide underwriting decisions on new and renewal business.
• Ensure compliance with binding authority agreements and delegated underwriting standards.
• Partner with underwriters on complex risks and pricing strategies.
• Manage and grow key agency relationships.
• Track market trends, pricing shifts, and emerging opportunities.
• Support strategic growth initiatives within specialty product lines.
• Travel with team members to develop agency relationships.
