Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services seeks an underwriter with 2+ years of E&S experience focusing on small to medium hazard property and casualty packages, with ISO form knowledge and individual account underwriting for risk analysis, rating, pricing and form selection.

The role includes renewing risk reviews, broker collaboration, and guiding producers to align with unit objectives, with salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years commercial general liability insurance experience.
• Knowledge of commercial lines risk, classification, pricing and coverage options.
• Knowledge of basic commercial property and casualty coverage.
• Experience working in a paperless environment preferred.
• Experience with wholesale agency distribution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review individual risks within renewal processes to determine actions with respect to pricing and coverage terms.
• Identify corrective actions and/or collaborate with appropriate area based on risk characteristics identified through broker reviews, large loss analysis, risk control, etc.
• Ensure brokers understand the Primary Casualty Unit objectives and coverage trends/issues for the renewal portfolio and support unit product offerings and risk appetite.
• Collaborate with the Primary Casualty Production staff to ensure a consistent producer experience across transactions.
• Ensure premium audits are reviewed promptly to determine if any actions are required based on operations or exposures.
• Exhibit sound underwriting principles, policies, procedures, and controls and mentor less experienced underwriters.
• Keep current on issues affecting the general liability line and attend industry events as required.
