Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Corrugated in Albany, GA, is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our Maintenance team. Start at $40+/hour, depending on experience, with exposure to PLC, HMI, and DCS control systems.

The role covers troubleshooting, calibration, preventive maintenance, and installation of electrical, instrumentation, and automation equipment in a manufacturing setting. On-call readiness is expected.

Qualifications

• Five years or more of electrical or instrument and control troubleshooting experience in manufacturing.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial controls PLCs, motor controls, valves, electrical distribution, Servo systems, and 24–480 VDC/AC motors.
• Expert level ability reading electrical schematics/blueprints.
• Knowledge of electrical hazards and safety procedures including NFPA 70 and OSHA regulations.
• Experience installing, calibrating, monitoring, modifying, programming, and maintaining HMI and DCS instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair, perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and installation of plant electrical, electronic, instrumentation and automation equipment.
• Proficiently use specialized software to maintain instrumentation, PLCs, and electrical systems.
• Install, calibrate, monitor, modify, program, and maintain PLC, HMI and DCS control instrumentation.
• Read electrical diagrams, schematics, and drawings for troubleshooting and installs.
• Operate and train on HMI and Robotics system controls; support EI&A needs plant-wide.
• Postured for routine on-call status and on-site responsiveness.
