Job summary

Florida’s Natural Growers is seeking an E & I Technical Foreman to lead the electrical & instrumentation team in a high-speed beverage manufacturing setting. You’ll guide technicians, troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and control systems while ensuring safe operation and process reliability.

You’ll collaborate across production, maintenance, engineering, quality, and safety to minimize downtime and drive continuous improvement in equipment performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical degree, industrial electrical certification, instrumentation certification, or related technical education preferred.
  • 5+ years of industrial electrical, instrumentation, controls, or automation experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or work direction to maintenance technicians.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, and automated equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, control drawings, P&IDs, and equipment documentation.
  • Electrical license or recognized industrial electrical certification and experience in CIP/sanitary systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily technical direction and coaching to E&I technicians.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation problems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control-system failures and prioritize maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical systems including motors, VFDs, MCCs, and panels.
  • Support PLC, HMI, SCADA and other control systems; calibrate instrumentation.
  • Identify and address recurring equipment failures; participate in RCA and reliability efforts.
  • Respond to production breakdowns with timely technical troubleshooting and improvements.
  • Promote safety, ensure LOTO, electrical safety, and CIP requirements are followed.
  • Train and mentor technicians and support development and qualification.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and PM procedures.

The E&I Technical Foreman provides technical leadership and day-to-day direction to Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) technicians supporting a high-speed beverage manufacturing operation. This position serves as the primary technical resource for electrical, instrumentation, controls, automation, and process-control systems while helping ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment.

This position works closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and other departments to minimize equipment downtime and improve the reliability, efficiency, and performance of manufacturing systems.

What you’ll do:
Technical Leadership
  • Provide daily technical direction, coaching, and support to E&I technicians.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation problems.
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting electrical and control-system failures.
  • Help prioritize E&I maintenance activities based on production requirements, equipment criticality, and safety considerations.
Electrical Systems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical systems, including motors, motor starters, VFDs, MCCs, electrical panels, transformers, and distribution systems.
  • Assist with electrical installation, modification, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment.
  • Ensure electrical work is performed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, company standards, and safety requirements.
Instrumentation & Controls
  • Troubleshoot and maintain process instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, control valves, and related devices.
  • Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, and other industrial control systems.
  • Assist with calibration and verification of critical instrumentation.
  • Support troubleshooting of automated production, packaging, blending, filling, conveying, refrigeration, utility, and CIP systems.
Reliability & Preventive Maintenance
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and other reliability improvement activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation PM procedures.
Production Support
  • Respond to production equipment breakdowns and provide timely technical troubleshooting.
  • Analyze downtime and recurring failures to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain a strong customer-service mindset toward production while never compromising safety or equipment integrity.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a strong safety culture and demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Ensure E&I work follows Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, confined-space, arc-flash, and other applicable safety requirements.
  • Ensure technicians understand and follow safe work procedures.
Leadership & Employee Development
  • Train, coach, and mentor E&I technicians.
  • Identify technical skill gaps and recommend training and development opportunities.
  • Provide input regarding technician performance, development, and qualification.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and effective communication within the Maintenance organization.
What we’re looking for:
Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or work direction to maintenance technicians.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, and automated equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, P&IDs, and equipment documentation.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools safely and effectively.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in beverage, food, dairy, bottling, packaging, or other high-speed process manufacturing.
  • PLC programming or troubleshooting experience, preferably with platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Experience with industrial networking and communication systems.
  • Experience with VFDs, servo systems, motion control, and robotics.
  • Experience with CMMS systems.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis and reliability-centered maintenance principles.
  • Electrical license or recognized industrial electrical certification.
  • Experience working around sanitary processing and CIP systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, cold, humidity, machinery, chemicals, and wet processing areas.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in confined or elevated areas as required.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment as required.
  • Ability to work around energized and high-voltage electrical equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
