Job summary

Florida’s Natural Growers in Florida is seeking a Maintenance Planner to improve the efficiency of the maintenance team by planning, scheduling, kitting and coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective tasks across the site.

You will ensure work is properly scoped, resourced, prioritized, and aligned with production while driving safe, reliable beverage manufacturing and durable equipment performance. Strong CMMS experience and collaboration with technicians and engineers are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, maintenance planning, scheduling, reliability, or related manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, refrigeration, utilities, or industrial processing equipment.
  • Experience using a CMMS such as SAP, IBM Maximo, Fiix, eMaint, Maintenance Connection, or similar system.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with hourly technicians, supervisors, managers, production personnel, engineers, and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, corrective, and proactive maintenance work.
  • Review maintenance requests and work orders to determine scope, priority, labor requirements, materials, tools, equipment, permits, and estimated duration.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities around production schedules to minimize disruption and equipment downtime.
  • Ensure planned work is properly scheduled and kitted before assignment to maintenance mechanics/technicians.
  • Monitor schedule compliance and communicate changes, delays, or resource constraints.
  • Work as a fill-in to the maintenance supervisor when needed.
  • Support development and continuous improvement of the site’s preventive maintenance program.
  • Ensure PM tasks are appropriately documented and scheduled in the CMMS.
  • Partner with Maintenance leadership to reduce repeated equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
  • Identify required parts and materials for planned maintenance work.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Stores/Warehouse and Procurement to verify material availability.
  • Identify long‑lead, critical, or obsolete spare parts that may impact maintenance execution.
  • Support optimization of critical spare‑parts inventory.
  • Maintain accurate equipment, asset list/trees, job plan, PMs, and work‑order information within the CMMS.
  • Manage parts inventory levels. Ensure parts are assigned to assets and min/max quantities make sense.
  • Monitor maintenance backlog and categorize work by priority and urgency.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage and drive performance using MTBF, MTTR, weekly schedule compliance, backlog and labor utilization metrics.
  • Work with Maintenance and Engineering to identify recurring equipment failures and opportunities for reliability improvement.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective-action activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, waste, and costs.
  • Participate in equipment shutdown and turnaround planning.
  • Ensure maintenance job plans include safety requirements, permits, LOTO, confined-space requirements, and other controls.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and safe execution priority.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling work performed by outside contractors and service providers.
  • Ensure contractors have appropriate scope, schedule, materials, access requirements, and safety expectations.

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance organization by planning, scheduling, kitting and coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. This position ensures maintenance work is properly scoped, resourced, prioritized, and scheduled to minimize equipment downtime. They will drive safe, reliable beverage manufacturing along with keeping the facility and utility systems functioning efficiently and correctly.

What you’ll do:
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, corrective, and proactive maintenance work.
  • Review maintenance requests and work orders to determine scope, priority, labor requirements, materials, tools, equipment, permits, and estimated duration.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities around production schedules to minimize disruption and equipment downtime.
  • Ensure planned work is properly scheduled and kitted before assignment to maintenance mechanics/technicians.
  • Monitor schedule compliance and communicate changes, delays, or resource constraints.
  • Work as a fill-in to the maintenance supervisor when needed.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
  • Support development and continuous improvement of the site’s preventive maintenance program.
  • Ensure PM tasks are appropriately documented and scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Partner with Maintenance leadership to reduce repeated equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
Materials & Parts Coordination
  • Identify required parts and materials for planned maintenance work.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Stores/Warehouse and Procurement to verify material availability.
  • Identify long‑lead, critical, or obsolete spare parts that may impact maintenance execution.
  • Support optimization of critical spare‑parts inventory.
CMMS Administration & Data
  • Maintain accurate equipment, asset list/trees, job plan, PMs, and work‑order information within the CMMS.
  • Manage parts inventory levels. Ensure parts are assigned to the appropriate assets and min/max quantities make sense for our strategy.
  • Monitor maintenance backlog and categorize work based on priority and urgency.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage and drive performance using Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Weekly maintenance schedule compliance, maintenance backlog and labor utilization metrics
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
  • Work with Maintenance and Engineering to identify recurring equipment failures and opportunities for reliability improvement.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective‑action activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, waste, labor inefficiencies, and maintenance costs.
  • Participate in equipment shutdown and turnaround planning.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure maintenance job plans incorporate appropriate safety requirements, permits, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined‑space requirements, safe plans of action (as necessary) and other applicable controls.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure maintenance work is planned with safe execution as a priority.
Contractor Coordination
  • Assist with planning and scheduling work performed by outside contractors and service providers.
  • Ensure contractors have appropriate scope, schedule, materials, access requirements, and safety expectations.
  • Track contractor work and communicate schedule or scope changes to appropriate stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, maintenance planning, scheduling, reliability, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, refrigeration, utilities, or industrial processing equipment.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in beverage, food, packaging, citrus, or other high‑volume manufacturing.
  • Experience with reliability‑centered maintenance, predictive maintenance, or root cause analysis.
  • Maintenance planning or scheduling certification.
  • Experience supporting plant shutdowns or major equipment installations.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements, LOTO, food safety, GMPs, confined space and sanitation requirements.
Technical experience in the following would be ideal:
  • CMMS systems and maintenance work‑order management
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Industrial mechanical and electrical systems
  • Pumps, motors, conveyors, compressors, packaging equipment, and process equipment
  • Utilities and refrigeration systems
  • Maintenance parts and inventory management

  • Maintenance KPI reporting and data analysis
