Job summary

Smurfit Westrock seeks an Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor at the West Point, VA mill. The role leads E&I technicians, manages safety, training, and maintenance spending to maximize uptime and minimize cost.

Strong leadership in reliability practices and field troubleshooting is essential. Requirements include manufacturing leadership experience and a preferred Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology; knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, and PLC/DCS systems (Rockwell, Honeywell, Valmet)

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing leadership role required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in engineering or technology; 10+ years supervisory experience considered.
• Model safe work practices and NFPA 70E, NEC knowledge.
• Proven leadership for strategies to hit performance objectives.
• Experience with reliability tools (FMEA, RCM, RCA) preferred.
• Oil analysis and transformer testing knowledge beneficial.
• Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, training and work assignments for E&I technicians.
• Manage maintenance spending with the team to maximize uptime at low cost.
• Troubleshoot equipment and guide technicians; lead field days and planning meetings.
• Conduct safety audits, time-sheet entry and reliability team collaboration.
• Develop employees to perform jobs safely with attention to detail.
• Support E&I related capital projects and continuous improvement.
