Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in West Point, VA is seeking an E&I Maintenance Supervisor to lead safety, training and work assignment for technicians. You will manage maintenance spending and drive reliability initiatives to maximize uptime at minimum cost.

The role requires leadership experience in manufacturing, with a focus on NFPA 70E/NEC compliance, RCA/RCM familiarity and PLC/DCS background. Expect night/weekend duties and active safety leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing leadership role is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred (engineering or technology) with ten+ years supervisory experience in paper industry will be considered.
• Model safe work practices and behaviors; working knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC.
• Proven leadership skills to develop strategies for performance objectives.
• Experience with Reliability tools (FMEA, RCM, RCA) preferred.
• Experience or working knowledge of PdMA or Baker motor testing.
• Transformer Doble and oil analysis experience.
• Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S.
• Solid PLC and DCS background (Rockwell, Honeywell, Valmet).
• VFD AC/DC drive experience; OSIsoft Pi data historian.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

E&I Maintenance Supervisor – West Point, VA

Career Opportunity

This position is responsible for: the safety, training and assignment of work for E&I technicians; maintenance spending (along with the other members of the maintenance and operations teams); technicians conducting themselves in accordance with all corporate, division and mill rules and procedures; adhering to and promoting established Work Management process; maintaining the equipment in the area in such a way that the equipment has the maximum possible uptime at the lowest possible cost. Expected to lead troubleshooting efforts when needed on the equipment in his/her area.

What You Need To Succeed

The salary range for this position is $93,000.00 - $155,000.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 15 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change. Your pay will be based on factors such as your skills, experience, and education.
