Job summary

Seyfarth Shaw LLP in New York seeks an experienced e-Filing Specialist to manage electronic filing in federal and state courts. You will be part of a regional and national docketing team supporting the firm’s domestic offices.

You will file documents using CM/ECF, research jurisdiction-specific rules, and coordinate with attorneys. This role requires 3–5 years in a large law firm and a Bachelor's degree, with strong attention to detail and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• 3–5 years of experience at a large law firm in a litigation support role.
• Experience with filing requirements for federal and state courts.
• Proficiency with e-Filing documents in state and federal courts.
• Ability to research and apply jurisdiction-specific rules and procedures.
• Attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
• Time management and ability to multitask.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to interpret filing rules and respond to procedural changes.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Know applicable court rules on how to electronically file documents in federal court using CM/ECF.
• File documents electronically in State and appellate courts, including after hours when needed.
• Maintain expertise on filing requirements across federal/state courts nationwide.
• Act as liaison between courts and firm attorneys on procedural/technical matters.
• Respond to procedural inquiries from attorneys.
• Research court case information to maintain accurate records.
• Assist with special projects as directed by regional coordinator and Docket leadership.
• Serve as back-up for overflow docketing requests when not e-filing.
