Job summary

Seyfarth Shaw LLP in New York, NY seeks an experienced e-Filing Specialist to manage electronic filings in federal and state courts. You will join a regional and national docketing team supporting domestic offices and liaise with courts and attorneys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
• 3-5 years of experience at a large law firm in a litigation support role
• Experience and subject matter expertise on the filing requirements for federal and state courts
• Proficiency with e-Filing documents in state and federal courts
• Ability to research and apply jurisdiction-specific rules and procedures
• Attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines
• Time management and ability to multitask
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to interpret filing rules and respond to procedural changes
• Proficiency with common e-filing platforms (e.g., CM/ECF for federal courts, state Court e-Filing platforms)
• The ability to interpret and analyze information
• Computer proficient with advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) required

Responsibilities

• Know applicable court rules on how to electronically file documents in federal court using CM/ECF; file after hours if needed
• File documents in State and appellate courts
• Have subject matter expertise on e-Filing requirements across the country
• Liaise between courts and firm’s attorneys on procedural/technical matters
• Respond to procedural inquiries from attorneys
• Research court case information to maintain accurate records
• Assist with special projects as assigned by regional coordinator and Director/Managing Attorney, Docket
• Serve as back-up for overflow docketing requests when not e-Filing
