Job summary

Seyfarth is hiring an e-Filing Specialist in New York. You will electronically file documents in federal and state courts as part of a regional and national docketing team providing support to domestic offices.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 3–5 years in a large law firm litigation support role, and proficiency with e-filing platforms like CM/ECF. Strong communication and meticulousness are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years at a large law firm in a litigation support role.
• Experience with filing requirements for federal and state courts.
• Proficiency with e-Filing in state and federal courts.
• Ability to research and apply jurisdiction-specific rules and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with CM/ECF and other filing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Know court rules for e-file in federal court using CM/ECF; file after-hours if needed.
• File documents in State and appellate courts.
• Be subject-matter expert on e-filing requirements nationwide.
• Act as liaison between courts and firm’s attorneys on procedural/technical matters.
• Respond to procedural inquiries from attorneys.
• Research court case information to maintain accurate records.
• Assist regional coordinator and Director/Managing Attorney, Docket, on special projects.
• Serve as back-up for overflow docketing when not e-filing.
