Job summary

H Mart in New Jersey is seeking a seasoned buyer/merchandiser to source and onboard new products, negotiate costs with suppliers, and manage the online catalog and listings. The role covers end-to-end item lifecycle, forecasting, replenishment, and promotional planning to optimize margins and stock levels.

You will build product launch plans with Marketing, Sales, and Fulfillment, collaborate on inventory and demand planning, and drive improvements in sell-through and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in buying, sourcing, e-commerce, or retail merchandising.
• Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, vendor management, inventory management, and demand forecasting.
• Demonstrated vendor negotiation experience and familiarity with e-commerce platforms and IMS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in English and Korean preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and onboard new products, negotiate costs and terms with suppliers, and manage online catalog.
• Manage and optimize product listings (descriptions, images, pricing).
• Own the vendor relationship: negotiate pricing, terms, promotional support MOQs, and lead times.
• Build product launch plans in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Fulfillment (creative assets, imagery, launch timing, inventory).
• Manage the item lifecycle end-to-end: item setup, cataloging, forecasting, replenishment, promotional planning, and end-of-life decisions.
• Manage sell-through, margin, in-stock rate, and customer feedback; take corrective action on underperforming SKUs.
• Manage supplier relationships and evaluate performance.
