Job summary

H Mart is seeking a Purchasing Analyst to lead vendor negotiations, manage item master data in SAP, and optimize sourcing for the store network. You will evaluate suppliers, monitor pricing, and align purchasing with COGS targets while supporting a trend-driven assortment strategy.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in business/SCM and 1–3 years in purchasing or procurement, with strong Excel and SAP skills; English and Korean communication is preferred. Work hours are Mon–Fri in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, SCM, Logistics, or related field required.
• 1–3 years of purchasing/procurement/SCM experience preferred, retail or food industry a plus.
• Proficiency in SAP (Item Master, PO creation) highly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
• Detail-oriented with strong negotiation skills and trend-spotting mindset.
• Bilingual English/Korean communication preferred for vendor interactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations with vendors on availability, specifications, deadlines, and pricing to optimize COGS.
• Evaluate suppliers on quality, pricing competitiveness, documentation compliance, and shipping reliability.
• Identify and purchase new, trending items to maintain competitive edge.
• Conduct regular market analysis and competitive shopping to anticipate consumer trends.
• Analyze sales data to identify opportunities and coordinate marketing for new arrivals.
• Investigate and respond to inventory or product issues reported from stores.
