Connect seeks a Strategic Purchaser in New Jersey to grow our e-commerce and dropship purchasing program. This role requires market insight, strong supplier networks, and ownership from negotiation to inventory outcomes.

You will monitor pricing trends, optimize stock levels, and collaborate with sales and other teams to maximize margins while managing risk. Prior experience in product trading or retail arbitrage is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong market instincts and ability to spot deals.
• Ability to act quickly, make independent decisions, and take ownership.
• Strong supplier relationships with margin, inventory, and cash-flow understanding.
• Organized and analytical with clear communication of decisions.
• Experience with e-commerce trading, retail arbitrage, or closeout stock is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Stay on top of market pricing, trends, promotions, and supply/demand.
• Decide when to buy, wait, or pass on a deal and determine stock quantities.
• Use promotions and market opportunities to improve margins while managing risk.
• Build and maintain a broad network of distributors and suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing and terms; own financial outcomes of purchases.
• Monitor inventory, sales, market prices, and product movement.
• Coordinate with sales and other teams before buying and when inventory needs selling.
• Communicate key purchases, market changes, and backup plans with stakeholders.
