Job summary

Addison Group's Finance & Accounting team in Miami is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage end-to-end appeals for client invoices. You will draft persuasive narratives for attorney review, monitor deadlines across e-billing platforms, and maintain a detailed appeals log for status, outcomes, and aging.

You will coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and billing staff to gather supporting information and communicate outcome updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred.
• Experience collaborating with LPM, pricing, or client relationship teams on billing and OCG compliance preferred.
• 3–5 years legal e-billing or appeals experience with electronic billing or appeals, preferably in a law firm.
• Knowledge of 3E and eBillingHub a plus.
• Hands‑on experience and advanced skills utilizing major e‑bill vendor portals required.
• Flexible to work overtime during peak billing/appeals cycles.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end appeals process for client invoices, from issue identification through final resolution and tracking.
• Draft clear appeal narratives for attorney review to optimize success rates and recoveries.
• Monitor and manage appeal deadlines across multiple e-billing platforms to prevent forfeiture of appeal rights.
• Maintain a detailed appeals log, tracking status, outcomes, and aging for short-paid and rejected invoices.
• Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, secretaries, and billing staff for supporting information and documentation.
• Communicate on appeal status and outcomes to Billing, Collections, and client teams.
• Prepare reporting to share insights with Finance and LPM.
• Participate in process-improvement and training initiatives related to billing and OCG compliance.
• Perform other projects assigned by the Billing Manager and Director of Legal Project and Practice Management.
