Job summary

V2X Inc. seeks an Aircraft Mechanic to troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, APU, and HVAC systems at the Patuxent River, MD site on NTWL program.

The role requires hands‑on repair of components, adherence to safety and technical orders, and maintaining logs. Candidates should meet the experience and training outlined and be able to operate in varied conditions.

Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Completion of specialized courses in aircraft structural repair is required.
  • Two to four years of recent experience in repair, modification, maintenance, and overhaul of the E-2C/D aircraft; four years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Replacing or repairing worn or damaged components such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing an engine from the aircraft, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, or defects, and reassembling.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections; completes miscellaneous duties such as flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions.
  • Uses comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals.
  • Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft and verifies that work meets standards; may perform line‑station repairs or specialize in structural, precision, or functional spare parts and assemblies, including engine repair.
  • Maintains aircraft logs and records and prioritizes workload to keep projects on schedule.
  • Complies with all applicable sections of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series and ALSS.
