Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a dedicated educator to join our team as a Dyslexia/ELAR Teacher. This full-time role provides specialized instruction to students with dyslexia and supports literacy development in English Language Arts, with a nurturing, inclusive classroom.

You will implement evidence-based strategies, develop IEPs and 504 plans, monitor progress, collaborate with parents and staff, and provide professional development to peers. TELPAS intervention for 2nd grade is included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or Special Education or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Valid teaching certification with ESL and specialization in dyslexia intervention or related area.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction for students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties.
• Utilize evidence-based teaching methods to support literacy development in reading, writing, and comprehension.
• Monitor and assess student progress with regular evaluations and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to implement IEPs and 504 plans.
• Provide professional development and support to educators on dyslexia teaching best practices.
• Assist with TELPAS Reading Intervention for 2nd grade.
