Job summary

Fort Bend ISD is seeking a Teacher Substitute to provide instruction in the absence of a classroom teacher. You will follow lesson plans, encourage student progress, and manage the learning environment for assigned students.

Assignments may be day-to-day or long-term, with potential to prepare lesson plans for extended assignments. Responsibilities include maintaining discipline, grading, reporting progress, and ensuring confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 60 college hours required or more
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Teaching Certification issued by Texas Education Agency preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage student behavior
• Flexible, organized and self-motivated

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher
• Provide instruction and maintain a positive classroom environment
• Maintain discipline and classroom control
• Prepare lesson plans for long-term substitutions
• Grade papers and maintain records
• Provide feedback on student progress and behavior
• Uphold district policies and procedures
• Report student injuries or incidents promptly
• Coordinate with staff and administrators
• Adapt to changing deadlines and priorities
