Job summary

Sylvania in Minnesota is seeking a Paraprofessional - Substitute to support teachers and students in the absence of the regular paraprofessional. This substitute position covers multiple classrooms district-wide across the district.

You will assist with instructional activities, provide individual and small group instruction, manage behavior, supervise during lunch and non-instructional times, and help prepare materials while keeping a safe, confidential environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• AA degree or Parapro certificate required.
• Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
• Flexibility to work in different classrooms and age groups.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional activities under the guidance of the teacher
• Provide individual and small group instruction as directed by the teacher
• Assist with classroom management and behavior support
• Assist with the supervision of students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times
• Assist with the preparation and organization of instructional materials and classroom resources
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment
• Communicate with the regular paraprofessional and teacher regarding student progress and behavior
