Job summary

Chicopee Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Educational Support Professional to assist the classroom teacher and deliver the district curriculum. Assigned up to three days a week via the substitute management software, you will work with small groups and help maintain a safe, productive learning environment.

Must have a high school diploma; bilingual Spanish/English preferred; prior paraprofessional experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
• Experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups of students
• Instruct students on rules of conduct and expected behaviors
• Support class objectives and outlines that align with the district approved curriculum
• Assist in preparations of classroom materials
• Assist in the delivery of differentiated instruction in an appropriate manner consistent with district curriculum
• Assist students with activities of daily living
• Works independently by appropriately using the directions given by the classroom teacher
• Maintains professional working relationships with teachers and staff
• Respects students, parents, guardians, and community
• Assist in communication and enforcement of district policies and procedures
