Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in SLP required.
• Licensed as an SLP by the state.
• If state does not license SLPs, must have 350 clock hours of supervised practicum, 9 months of supervised full-time SLP services, and pass a national exam.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients within 24 hours, or 1 business day of physician referral; document delay if not.
• Develop effective treatment plans and obtain physician approval.
• Treat patients per physician treatment plan.
• Supervise SLPA in direct patient care and related activities.
• Communicate with supervisor and health team regarding patient progress and plans.
• Participate in patient care conferences and rehabilitation reviews as needed.
• Record evaluations and treatment notes per regulatory requirements.
• Instruct families or nursing staff in maintenance and discharge preparation.
• Discharge planning participation.
• Act as clinical preceptor for CFY/RFP SLPs.
