Job summary

Huron Valley Schools is seeking an enthusiastic Resource Room Teacher to meet the academic, behavioral, and communication needs of students with IEPs. The role requires collaboration with teachers, families, and staff to design and monitor supports.

The candidate will travel between buildings daily, lead IEPs and MDRs, and ensure compliance with district guidance while actively engaging in meetings and professional learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with SPED endorsement.
• Endorsements in LD, ASD, CI, EI or other SPED area accepted; additional endorsements preferred.
• Must meet the Highly Qualified standard under ESSA or be recommended for an endorsement.
• Evidence of ability to implement IEPs and monitor progress.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SPED and general education staff to support students in LRE.
• Provide specially designed instruction and monitor IEP goals and quarterly data.
• Travel between buildings within the school day as needed.
• Lead and write IEPs and MDRs in compliance with federal/state guidance.
• Attend department and building meetings and engage in ongoing professional learning.
• Maintain service and accommodation logs for each caseload student.
