Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Prepare meals from standardized recipes in accordance with orders in a timely and attractive manner.
  2. Set up food service line and workstations with needed condiments.
  3. Ensure all condiments and garnishes required are prepared and served with the appropriate foods.
  4. Assist in coordinating prep for the following day’s menu.
  5. Participate in a pre-meal meeting with food servers to review the details of the daily menu.
  6. Assist with training of new kitchen employees.
  7. Assist with scheduling of employees within the department.
  8. Assist with food ordering, monitor inventory, and create the menu cycle.
  9. Keep stock rooms, coolers, and freezers clean; ensure food supply stocks are rotated, labeled, dated, and stored properly.
  10. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food preparation according to health department code requirements.
  11. Minimize food waste by utilizing proper storage and recycling techniques.
  12. Manage and supervise Cooks, Lead Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Utility Workers as needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong leadership and training skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, inventory management, and ordering
  • Self-starter with a team-first mindset
  • Experience with large-scale events and high-energy kitchens
  • 3+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment and/or relevant certification or degree
  • Serv Safe or other required certifications
  • Organized with excellent communication skills with co-workers and residents
  • Pride in the quality and presentation of food prepared
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of cooking and meal preparation
  • Thorough understanding of food service techniques and requirements
  • Must pass background check
Additional Information

Salary: $60,000-$65,000 annually
