Job summary

Somic America in Brewer, ME is seeking a motivated Shipping & Receiving team member. You will load/unload trucks, prepare shipments, verify accuracy, and maintain inventory using AIM.

The role also involves transporting materials and operating forklifts with a focus on safety and precision. This position supports shipping documentation and continuous improvement initiatives, and can accommodate either 1st or 2nd shift depending on need.

Qualifications

• Has strong attention to detail and safety
• Communicates clearly with coworkers and supervisors
• Able to follow standardized work procedures
• Comfortable learning computer systems such as AIM, Excel, and Word
• Willing to work independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks
• Prepare customer shipments, including staging, wrapping, strapping, and labeling
• Verify shipments for accuracy before they leave the facility
• Receive raw materials and maintain accurate inventory records using AIM
• Transport materials and finished goods throughout the plant
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely
• Maintain FIFO inventory practices
• Process shipping paperwork (FedEx, UPS, export, service parts)
• Inspect and sort returnable packaging
• Help maintain an organized, clean Shipping & Receiving area
• Support continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives
