Job summary

Somic America in Brewer, ME is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Operator to help move materials and finished goods safely and on time. You will load and unload trucks, prepare shipments, verify accuracy, and maintain inventory using AIM.

You will operate forklifts, follow FIFO, process shipping paperwork, and support Kaizen initiatives in a fast-paced plant environment. Attention to detail and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read shipping documents and work instructions
• Strong math and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (75 lbs. occasionally)
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift

Responsibilities

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks
• Prepare customer shipments, including staging, wrapping, strapping, and labeling
• Verify shipments for accuracy before they leave the facility
• Receive raw materials and maintain accurate inventory records using AIM
• Transport materials and finished goods throughout the plant
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely
• Maintain FIFO inventory practices
• Process shipping paperwork, including FedEx, UPS, export, and service part shipments
• Inspect and sort returnable packaging
• Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe Shipping & Receiving area
• Support continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives

What You'll Do
