Job summary

Somic America Inc. is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Operator to help move materials and finished products safely and efficiently within our Brewer, Maine facility.

You will load/unload trucks, prepare shipments, and verify accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work independently or on a team, and comfortable using computer systems like AIM, Excel, and Word.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and comfort with data entry.
• Ability to read shipping documents and follow work instructions precisely.
• Strong math and problem-solving abilities for inventory checks and shipments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Good balance of independent and team work to ensure on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Prepare customer shipments with proper labeling, wrapping, and staging.
• Verify shipments for accuracy before leaving the facility.
• Operate material handling equipment and maintain FIFO practices.
• Process shipping paperwork (FedEx, UPS, exports) and maintain records.
• Keep shipping area organized, clean, and safe.
