Job summary

The Newgrange School seeks a Secondary Mathematics Teacher for grades 6–12 for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher reports to the Principal and delivers effective math instruction aligned with New Jersey standards, while supporting students’ academic and individual learning needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required within an accredited college/university.
• Valid New Jersey instructional certificate or Statement of Eligibility for Grades 6-12 mathematics.
• Strong knowledge of NJ math standards and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ability to create a positive, structured learning environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver mathematics instruction aligned with New Jersey standards and the school curriculum.
• Develop and adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs and learning profiles.
• Implement IEP goals and accommodations and maintain accurate records.
• Use differentiated and multisensory instructional strategies to support learning.
• Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, colleagues and administrators.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and other professionals to support student needs.
• Attend IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
• Supervise students as assigned.
• Support the mission and educational goals of The Newgrange School.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Administration.
