Job summary

The Newgrange School seeks a Secondary Mathematics Teacher for grades 6–12 for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher reports to the Principal and delivers effective math instruction aligned with New Jersey standards, while supporting students’ academic and individual learning needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required within an accredited college/university.
• Valid New Jersey instructional certificate or Statement of Eligibility for Grades 6-12 mathematics.
• Strong knowledge of NJ math standards and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ability to create a positive, structured learning environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and other professionals to support student needs.
• Attend IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
• Supervise students as assigned.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Administration.

Job Duties

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid New Jersey instructional certificate or Statement of Eligibility appropriate for teaching mathematics in Grades 6-12.
• Knowledge of effective mathematics instructional strategies, differentiated instruction, and developmentally appropriate practices for students in Grades 6-12.
• Ability to establish and maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs and profiles.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
• NJDOE-required fingerprinting and criminal history clearance.
• Other qualifications as determined appropriate by the Principal and/or Executive Director.
