Responsibilities

• Teach skills, knowledge, and scientific attitudes through course in general science, earth sciences, biology, chemistry, physics, physiology, or science problems to secondary pupils, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities.
• Demonstrate scientific concepts by use of scientific apparatus, experiments, and standard or teacher-prepared charts, sketches, and other instructional aids.
• Instruct pupils in proper use, care, safe handling of chemicals, science equipment, and plant and animal life.
• Develop standards for critical analysis through group discussions based on a variety of mass media.
• Encourage pupils to think independently and to express original ideas.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment in the classroom where several kinds of activities may be taking place simultaneously.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated.
• Prepare written lesson plans with appropriate objectives and utilizes appropriate state standards, guides, tasks lists, etc.
