Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools is seeking a Principal to administer and evaluate instructional programs, manage school resources, and build a safe, effective learning environment. You will establish relationships with students, families, staff and the community while leading strategic improvement efforts.

The role requires navigating district policies, budgets, and facilities, with a focus on rigor, equity, and continuous growth for all students.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
• Doctoral Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university preferred.
• Three (3) years relevant experience as a school-based administrator required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate the effectiveness of all school personnel; report and monitor employees not meeting contractual requirements.
• Define the school’s mission and communicate goals of the total school program.
• Provide instructional leadership for aligning curriculum, instruction, and assessment through observation and evaluation of teachers.
• Create, maintain, and monitor a monthly meeting calendar for faculty collaboration and a culture focused on rigor and learning.
• Coordinate the instructional program with central office staff and staff development; supervise the instructional program of the school.
• Lead continuous school improvement and develop a SIP aligned to the district’s plan.
• Monitor student achievement using technology and data sources.
• Engage community stakeholders in shared responsibility for student learning.
