Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to direct and supervise a range of programs, including community events, sports, arts, and STEM. You will plan, schedule, and evaluate programs, manage budgets and volunteers, and work with vendors across city departments to ensure successful delivery.

You will oversee fee structures, maintain records, and contribute to program marketing while supporting safety and risk management. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation administration or related field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in supervision, operation, and management of recreation facilities and programs; or equivalent.
• Possession or ability to obtain CTRS designation within six months of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Direct, plan, organize, supervise and schedule assigned recreation programs.
• Develop and maintain community volunteer programs and manage vendors.
• Oversee program revenues, attendance, and operating costs.
• Coordinate and implement recreation programs, events, and special projects.
• Advertise programs and events with divisions and departments.
• Develop facility rules and publish policies and manuals.
• Evaluate and adjust fees for fee-based programs.
• Enter programs into registration software and manage program guides.
• Collaborate with community organizations and contracted instructors.
• Assist in budget development and department operating procedures.
• Process purchase orders up to $3,000 and perform inventory.
• Develop multi-generational programs and partnerships across City departments.
• Ensure safety, manage risk, and respond to emergencies per safety protocols.
• Lead efforts in marketing recreation offerings and participant engagement.
• Schedule evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
