Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a recreation supervisor to plan, organize, manage and evaluate aquatics programs, facilities and staff under the Recreation Superintendent. You will ensure safe, accessible, high‑quality services aligned with city goals and community needs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Recreation/Leisure Studies and five years of aquatic program experience with at least two years in a supervisory capacity. Strong budgeting and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies or related field and five years of full‑time experience in aquatic programs; two years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of aquatic programming, water safety, CPR/First Aid, and pool operations.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, staff training, scheduling and performance evaluation.
  • Understanding of federal, state and local pool codes and safety requirements.
  • Strong customer service, communication and incident response skills.

Responsibilities

  • Directs goals, objectives, policies and priorities for the aquatics program.
  • Supervises personnel, staffing, training, evaluation and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains pool facilities, water quality and chemical balance to code.
  • Coordinates lifeguard training, first aid, CPR and aquatic emergency operations.
  • Prepares and monitors program budget and reports.
