Job summary

The City of Savannah Recreation & Leisure Services Department is seeking a Recreation Services Activity Coordinator to plan, organize and execute a variety of indoor and outdoor activities heavily used in our centers. You will lead activities, monitor facilities, and support events with flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities include developing programs, handling registrations and payments, ensuring participant safety, and coordinating with partners.

Qualifications

• Requires High School graduation or GED plus two years in leisure services, education or recreation.
• First Aid/CPR certification required or obtainable within six months.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving history.
• Background check and post-offer medical screening required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead and evaluate programs in a recreation center or park facility.
• Provide customer service, handle registrations and collect fees.
• Ensure safety of participants and enforce rules and regulations.
• Schedule activities and space, and assist with events and field trips.
• May drive a city vehicle to transport participants or travel to locations.
• May serve as manager on duty when Center Supervisor is unavailable.
