Job summary

Roane County Board of Education is seeking an Elementary Teacher to provide instruction aligned with Roane County Schools' standards and WV Creative Curriculum. The role covers Early Education PreK-K and PK-K Preschool Handicapped through a full-time schedule, with emphasis on student achievement and collaborative teaching.

The position requires a valid WV teaching certificate, background check, and adherence to WV codes.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in Early Education PreK-K and PK-K Preschool Handicapped, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10
• Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement Roane County Schools' standards-based curriculum based on WV Creative Curriculum
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs
• Incorporate 21ST Century technology skills
• Collaborate with special education staff to support all students
• Plan and implement designated co-curricular activities and field trips
• Be accountable for individual student achievement
• Provide personalized learning for all students
• Maintain strong communication with students, parents and peers
• Support principal-directed school improvement initiatives
• Perform supervisory and other duties as assigned by the Principal
