Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking an Elementary Teacher to provide instruction aligned with WV Content Standards for the appropriate grade level in Jefferson County. The teacher will plan, implement, and assess curriculum and participate in ongoing professional responsibilities within a supportive school environment.

The role requires maintaining compliance with state codes, implementing inclusive practices, and collaborating with families and staff to support student learning.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specified specialization and grade levels in WV.
• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content and curriculum.
• Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and assess Jefferson County Schools' curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Implement 21st Century technology skills.
• Plan and implement inclusion with special education students.
• Plan and implement designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school (e.g., curricular fairs, awards programs, field trips).
• Administer approved formative and/or summative assessments.
• Plan and implement tiered instruction for reading and math.
• Address and implement students' IEPs and 504 Plans; recommend revisions when needed.
• Adhere to JCS Grading and Achievement Policy.
• Demonstrate strong working/communication skills and collaboration with students, parents and peers to promote learning.
• May direct/support aides, student teachers, and volunteers in the learning environment.
• Foster a safe and supportive classroom climate conducive to learning.
• Meet professional responsibilities.
• Maintain professional work habits and adhere to the Teacher Code of Conduct.
• Willing to implement other programs designated by Principal for school improvement.
• Include supervisory and/or other duties as assigned by Principal.
