Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
• Prepares for class assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals and communicates objectives to students.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media tailored to location and student needs.
• Strives to implement district education goals and objectives.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports as required.
• Diagnoses learning disabilities with appropriate district support.
• Maintains safety of students and property; uses reasonable precautions.
• Keeps accurate records as required; enforces policies and rules.
• Makes oneself available to students/parents outside instructional hours.
• Plans and supervises assignments for aides/volunteers and coordinates with department heads.
• Keeps up professional competence; attends staff meetings and committees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
