Job summary

Annual salary is determined by the district schedule. Expect to work 187 days with state-mandated training and strong collaboration with faculty, staff, and the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• Valid Alabama State teaching certificate with a “P” for grade level.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• HQ/NCLB/ESSA compliance requirements.
• Suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the system mission, goals and priorities.
• Determines individual and class needs consistent with district and state instructional goals.
• Establishes objectives and plans learning experiences that comply with local and state curriculum guidelines.
• Delivers instructional activities with varied techniques, promoting positive student interaction and practice of skills.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior that facilitate teaching and learning.
• Becomes familiar with and administers State directed Pre-K assessments.
• Works collaboratively with staff to promote student learning.
• Maintains professional relationships with parents and community.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations at all levels.
• Participates in required training and professional development; completes 15 hours state-sponsored training annually plus 15 hours local/ regional training.
