Job summary

Limestone County Board of Education is seeking a TEACHER to join our team. The position reports to the Principal and is compensated under the Limestone County District Salary Schedule.

The role requires proper Alabama teaching certification and adherence to district policies. The successful candidate will deliver instruction, assess student progress, maintain records, and participate in meetings with staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Proper certification according to the Alabama State Department Teacher and Certification Office.

Responsibilities

• Follows the state course of study and Limestone County curricula.
• Maintains good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and time management.
• Plans, prepares and delivers instructional activities to foster active learning.
• Develops schemes of work and lesson plans.
• Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Prepares classroom for class activities.
• Provides learning materials and resources to support instruction.
• Uses instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
• Instructs and monitors students in the use of materials and equipment.
• Uses relevant technology to support instruction.
• Observes and evaluates students' performance and development.
• Assigns and grades class work, homework, tests and assignments.
• Provides feedback on work and encourages student progress.
• Maintains records accurately as required by laws and district policies.
• Prepares required reports on students and activities.
• Manages student behavior by establishing rules and procedures.
• Maintains discipline per school rules and disciplinary systems.
• Applies disciplinary measures when necessary.
• Participates in department and school meetings, parent meetings.
• Communicates progress and needs to students, colleagues and parents.
• Keeps up to date with developments in subject area and adapts plans accordingly.
• Adheres to district policies and state/federal regulations.
• Engages in professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
