Job summary

Bridge Home Health & Hospice in Palm Desert, CA is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to provide PT services under the direction of a licensed physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.

You will guide patients through exercises, educate on device use, document progress, and collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered therapy in a home health setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an associate’s degree approved by APTA.
• Approved as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy under the direction of a licensed physical therapist and per physician's plan of care.
• Treats patients to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain optimal performance.
• Aids patients in therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and prosthetic training.
• Uses physical agents (heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, massage) as directed.
• Notes patient responses and updates the PT and care team accordingly.
• Instructs patients on wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic devices.
