Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is seeking a Physical Therapist at the Burr Ridge DayRehab Center to optimize patient function through evidence-based interventions. The role emphasizes integrating current research and patient-centered care to promote recovery.

You will perform advanced evaluations, design rehabilitation programs, and lead discharge planning while documenting progress and coordinating with physicians and care teams.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Licensed to practice in Illinois (IL).
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Ability to lift 20–50 pounds occasionally and 10–25 pounds frequently.
• Strong communication with physicians, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced evaluations of neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems.
• Design and adapt rehabilitation programs based on patient progress and evidence.
• Establish patient-centered and functional goals with outcome measures.
• Lead discharge planning including home programs when appropriate.
• Document evaluations and progress for physicians, carriers and regulators.
• Coordinate DME delivery and fitting with providers.
• Supervise PT students and contribute to research initiatives.
