Job summary

Mercyhealth Patient Registrars are responsible for patient registration duties at Mercyhealth Hospital locations. They greet patients and family members, assist with questions, and enter information into the Electronic Medical Record to start care.

The role is fast paced and supports clinical teams by ensuring accurate registrations. No prior healthcare experience is required; however, 1–2 years of customer service and good typing skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of high school or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in person or over the phone.
• Enter patient information into the electronic medical record accurately.
• Collect demographics and insurance information and explain financial responsibilities.
• Assist with registration for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Support clinical staff by coordinating patient flow and scheduling.
