Job summary

East Side House Settlement seeks a part-time Program Coordinator for Melrose Older Adult Center in the Bronx. You will supervise staff, plan social, cultural, educational, and recreational activities, and ensure reports and contracts are handled accurately.

Qualifications

• AA degree and two years of social service experience or four years of direct social service experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assess priorities.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Thorough understanding of DFTA policies and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of community service and development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program staff through weekly supervision and evaluations.
• Coordinate and help develop programs for older adult participants in social, cultural, educational and recreational activities.
• Develop and implement outreach plans to ensure maximum utilization of the center.
• Recruit volunteers and liaise with community groups; assist with fundraising activities.
• Prepare and submit all program reports to the Program Director in a timely fashion.
• Ensure contract compliance and maintain center records.
