Job summary

Summit Care Inc. Occupational Therapist position available in Iowa. You will evaluate patients, develop and implement OT treatment plans, and discharge with measurable outcomes, while supervising assistants and students.

The role requires an accredited OT degree and a valid OT license, along with strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities. You will contribute to quality improvement, safety, and training within the facility, including patient handling and care coordination.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
• Valid Occupational Therapy License to practice in appropriate state(s).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective leadership and customer relations skills.
• Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Executes doctor’s orders and provides OT screening/evaluation to determine patient status.
• Develops and implements treatment plans with functional, measurable outcomes and adheres to professional standards.
• Oversees and maintains therapy records; ensures supplies and equipment availability.
• Coordinates and participates in staff training and facility meetings; participates in quality improvement.
• Maintains patient schedules and ensures accurate documentation for reimbursement and billing.
