Job summary

Hancock Whitney in Gonzales, LA, seeks an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to originate portfolio loans including conventional, FHA, VA and RD while ensuring compliance with investor requirements and all applicable laws.

You will build referral networks, manage a clean loan pipeline, coordinate with processors, underwriters and closers, and deliver disclosures in a timely manner to help clients secure financing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of mortgage laws, procedures and regulations.
• Ability to learn Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access/Outlook).
• 2+ years of mortgage origination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert mortgage advice to potential borrowers.
• Stays current with underwriting policy, investor guidelines, laws and regulations.
• Develops and maintains referral networks with Realtors, builders and community contacts.
• Manages a clean pipeline of loans with processors, underwriters and closers.
• Delivers all compliance documents and disclosures timely.
