Job summary

TrulyHired seeks a Middle School Assistant Principal for leave of absence coverage from 02/11/27 to 05/07/27 (approximate dates). Under the Principal’s direction, the Assistant Principal will lead curriculum, management, and day-to-day building operations to ensure student safety and an effective educational atmosphere.

The role requires Massachusetts certification as an Assistant Principal/Principal and a Master’s degree with evidence of further study preferred; three years’ leadership

Qualifications

• Massachusetts certification as an Assistant Principal/Principal is required.
• Master's Degree; evidence of study beyond Master’s Degree preferred.
• Three years experience as an Assistant Principal, director, department head or lead teacher preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and leadership skills; experience facilitating communication between different groups and in group decision making.
• Demonstrated success in curriculum development, evaluation and implementation; strong administrative skills.
• Excellent public-speaking and writing skills; proficient with computers and information management tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the middle school's educational program and monitor curriculum implementation to meet student needs.
• Establish expectations for reading, writing, listening, speaking, and scientific inquiry to meet standards.
• Promote diverse teaching methods and include students with special needs in core curricula.
• Foster a respectful school culture and a climate that supports students’ potential.
• Collaborate with staff to evaluate instructional programs and interpret data to improve teaching and learning.
• Provide leadership alongside the Principal, communicating the school vision and goals to students, staff, families, and the community.
