Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a dedicated teacher to instruct, assess, and guide students in alignment with district standards. Under supervision of the principal, you will plan lessons, monitor progress, and maintain records while promoting student success.

You will communicate with families, participate in school initiatives, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment. Requires state certification and student teaching experience; energy for after-school activities is a plus.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain Illinois teaching certificates.
• Must possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS).
• Knowledge of state standards and effective teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional activities and develop written lesson plans aligned with program objectives.
• Maintain accurate attendance and pupil records and evaluate progress.
• Establish positive classroom management and standards of conduct.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding pupil progress and support.
• Support school programs and may participate in field trips and after-school activities.
