Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Successful completion of all student teaching requirements as well as all coursework required to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate(s).
• License Requirements: Teachers must possess at least one of the following valid teaching licenses issued by the Illinois State Board of Education: PEL or ELS, endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge, Abilities, and Skill: Knowledge of subject matter per state certification, knowledge of classroom and behavior management techniques.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet student needs and to collaborate with parents/guardians and staff.
• Skill in applying contemporary teaching principles, plus strong verbal and written communication and professional judgment.
• Physical Requirements: Light work and mobility as described; ability to stand, reach, and assist students as needed.
