Job summary

Chicago Public Schools in Chicago is seeking a Teacher responsible for instruction, progress, and discipline of pupils in assigned classes. You will plan lessons, apply effective teaching methods, and maintain records.

You will communicate with parents and participate in professional staff meetings, field trips, and after-school activities. The role requires completing student teaching and obtaining an Illinois teaching certificate (PEL or ELS).

Qualifications

Successful completion of student teaching and coursework for Illinois teaching certificate issued by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Possession of Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS).
Knowledge of subject matter and contemporary teaching practices.

Responsibilities

Plan lessons and prepare in accordance with instructional program objectives.
Establish and maintain classroom discipline and positive learning environments.
Communicate with parents/guardians about progress, attendance, and conduct.
Coordinate field trips and participate in in-service meetings and professional staff meetings.
