Job summary

Manhattan Charter School is seeking a dedicated Physical Education (PE) / ICT Teacher for Kindergarten through 5th grade. The role blends dynamic PE instruction with Integrated Co-Teaching responsibilities to ensure inclusive access to grade-level curriculum.

The ideal candidate will promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy habits while collaborating with colleagues to support students with diverse learning needs in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Teaching certification/license in Physical Education preferred.
• Experience teaching physical education at elementary or K–12 level.
• Ability to adapt and differentiate teaching methods to accommodate diverse learners.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver developmentally appropriate PE lessons for K–5.
• Teach fundamentals of sports, movement, fitness, teamwork, and wellness.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Organize and supervise extracurricular sports and fitness activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate PE with other subjects and initiatives.
• Maintain clear expectations and a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
• Support ICT responsibilities when assigned and coordinate with co‑teachers.
